Stay

I know this blog's been pretty dead...but there is a good reason to it (trust me) - I've been slogging really hard ever since I started work at a PR agency last month. It's my first job ever and I'm actually learning quite a lot, so there isn't much about my life (or outfit updates hahaha, not that I attempt to do a lookbook-worthy entry most of the time anyway). Loads has happened over the course of my last blog entry and now - got my first paycheck (YES!!!! shopping time!), turned 23, grew more curves and yes, got attached to some random nice guy who is also from the PR industry. But that said, here are some pictures courtesy of yours truly:

ASOS Sonic Pointed Heels - I've always wanted to get a pair of pointed heels ever since my pointed stilettos broke. And ankle strap heels + kitten heels are pretty much the trend 'tis season (what, you need more convincing? OK, just check out Christopher Bailey's Burberry Fall 2013 - the British luxury house sent its models streaming down the runway in demure kitten heels). Besides, walking around in heels all day aren't doing my feet any favor. I'm totally diggin' the heels and I love the fact that you can dress them up with corporate wear, or wear them down for your everyday errand run. I can't wait for them to arrive - 11 March, please come forth!

ASOS Salon Floral Bandeau Dress - This was my OFTD for this year's Lunar New Year. And yes, I pretty much have a thing for everything floral. (And in case you're wondering, I got this cute cat hanger from Urban Outfitters. Tres chic et cute!)

Celine Luggage Tote: My favorite bag at the moment. 'Nuff said.

H&M Brocade Pant: This was on my wish list for X'mas last year and nope, my Secret Santa didn't hear me. But note to self: do get yourself a pair of printed pants!

My workstation: It was my third day of work; I had nothing much to do but here's my sister's trusty old Balenciaga and notebook (told ya I love pretty things)

Stylestalker Panther Lace Pant - I love lace and this is probably the sexiest lace number I've ever laid my eyes on. Just ordered it online and I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail. Fingers crossed that it fits though (since Stylestalker is known for its smaller-than-usual sizes).

P.S: I've been playing Rihanna's Stay on repeat. And yes, I do think that's probably her best single ever from her latest studio album, Apologetic.

Celine Luggage

I know I used to blog incessantly about the Celine Box Bag but after bumping into a girl at uni last May (with a classic black Luggage no-less), I'm now literally besotted with the Luggage tote. Otherwise known as the Boston tote, the Luggage tote is created by the current Creative Director of Celine - Phoebe Philo (God, I LOVE her. She's one of my favorite designers. Can anyone say minimalist chic much?). Philo is also the brains behind some of fashion's most desired and well-coveted it bags - the Paddington (Chloe) and yes, the Box shoulder and this season's favorite arm candy, the Celine Trapeze.

Look at the red edge detail on the luggage!

That aside, I've managed to obtain my very own Celine baby! <3 I literally had a hard time looking for one. Apparently the classic black luggage is a very popular model - I was told I have to wait for some 4-6 months on the waiting list for new arrivals. So it was a godsend indeed when my dad told me he has managed to find the last piece of this leather baby. And just so y'know, the luggage bag comes in five different sizes. I've gotten this info from the friendly sales supervisor at the Celine boutique in Singapore:

Nano - 20 x 20 cm
Micro - 26 x 26 cm
Mini - 30 x 30 cm
Shoulder - 30 x 37 cm
Medium - 38 x 40 cm

Note: The Medium is really huge (it's basically a traveling bag). Popular designs/models are the micro and mini. My luggage tote is the mini.

BryanBoy #2

I must have been living under a rock!!!! I'm just done watching a short documentary on Frankie Han (better known as Han Huo Huo) - one of the editors of Marie Claire China (who also happens to be a prominent fashion blogger in La Chine). Apparently he shot to fame after being captured by Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist) along one of the laneways in Milan.

Dude's amaaaaaaaaaazing cos he has a wicked sense of style and yes he's actually carrying one the Celine Box Bag here - one of those gorgeous leather babies that I've been lusting since forever. He reminds me of BryanBoy (think: wacky, loud and yes, he carries Chanel (just like BB) and wear heels too). Do check out his blog for more outfit shots, exclusive runway shows and Han partying and living it up with (Asian) models and celebrities. And yes, it's written in Mandarin China (dude's from China...so yeah) but the pictures sure make up for the lost in translation.

Lanvin & Alber Elbaz

It seems that even the French have succumbed to the rise of the Orient - China, that is. French couture house Lanvin (one of my favorite French fashion house apart from Celine) has chose to set its sights on the Chinese capital city of Beijing for another round of celebration as it marks the 10th year helm of its designer, Alber Elbaz. Here are some sneak peeks and indeed, some of the clothes are simply gorgeous and to die for. Ah, if only I were 6 feet tall and modelesque (ok, who am I tryna kid??)... But glad that the runway show did feature quite a number of Chinese Asian models. Well, it's a fashion show in China after all...

Love the minimalist look of this peplum dress

THE BAG PAGE

I know I'm supposed to be researching for my Global Environmental Politics essay (thats due this Mon), but I'm somehow 'researching' for bags instead. You see, Mom called me today to ask if I wanna get a Balenciaga...but really, I just want the Celine box Bag. I mean, I've been lusting for it like since forever.

I've always love CELINE simply because it's a fairly understated brand as compared to the likes of Louis Vuitton and Gucci et al, and plus I LOVE LOVE LOVE Phoebe Philo. Like a lot. And the Box Bag's definitely the kind of classic bag that I can see myself using for the rest of my life. It's versatile and unlike the Miu Miu which my parents got me for my 20th birthday, it definitely goes well for both formal and casual occasions. I can see myself carrying this to the mall (in jeans/denim shorts/summer dresses etc.) or heading out to the office in my corporate attire.

But my sis was quite vehemently against me getting the Box Bag. Her justifications? It's tad too expensive for a small bag and plus, it looks cheap. Cheap?!?!?! Are you effing sure? Just cos it doesn't have the brand label plastered on the bag itself....But I gotta admit, I did spotted the neon versions of the Box Bag in Sportsgirl. Imagine paying $4k for the real deal when you can get one for $34 from a high-street label. But of course, it doesn't come in luxe leather. Thats for sure.

One other bag that I'm currently lusting for? It's the Hermes' Constance bag. Pretty similar to Celine's Box as it comes in a structured shape with a long sling, but the Hermes is definitely more distinctive for its gold-plated 'H' hardware. I think I've fallen in love with it the moment I saw Diane Kruger toting one.

Diane Kruger with her Constance.

Mom also asked if I want the YSL Muse. Ok, I think my sister can probably shut her trap now 'cos the YSL Muse is not just a classic, it is HUGE and yes, very well-suited for daily use. I've managed to feel the leather of the bag when I was at a YSL boutique the other time and oh God, it's really soft. I've always told myself that I have to get the Muse the moment i start work. Well, I'm gonna graduate next semester. Is that a good reason why I have to get it? Shrugs :<

P.S: I'm totally chuffed to know that I actually have one follower (well, at least I do know someone's following/reading my blog!) :> Thanks Alex! You made my day <33333

Random musings

Me in my sis' micro denim shorts. Wore this out with ankle boots to Camberwell Market with Blair two months back. Do pardon me for the messy background at the back.

Totally diggin' her hair here.

WANT

Deena & Ozzy studded boots that I got for a steal from Urban Outfitters. My fave 2010 winter essentials.

The late Korean model Daul Kim. Took this off from her blog sometime back last year when I was reading it. Love this pic. It reminds me of a Bazaar editorial.
