Starships were meant to fly

Hi!!!!!

I'm back! :)

I've been so busy with interning and uni these days so much so I literally dozed off while surfing the net these days (yeah, totes not kidding). But that said, I've just three more essays and six more days at the office before I can smell FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM! Life's pretty good at the moment (though I'll probably regret even saying this as I start working on my essays later). Another reason why life ain't always a bed of roses - money woes. There's just so many pretty things online thats enticing me to buy now...Focus pocus gurl.

Anyway, here are some pictures from my last brunch trip! My chums and I were at South Melbourne the other day cos we wanna dine at Chez Dre. Unfortunately, the waiting time was about an hour and we were all really starving by then, hence we zoomed down to St. Ali's! It's my second time at St. Ali's and yes it's well-known for its coffee and lattes and chocolates so scroll down for pictures!

My outfit for the day! I was trying to channel these Missoni-inspired printed shorts which I got from General Pants for a steal. You can't see my scarf clearly in this pic cos it's black on black but the next pic shows it all clearly.

 LOVE HER OUTFIT

The Menu. I liiiike

Yeah it's basically brunch inside a warehouse. I kid you not. Cool concept though

Knotted

Friend: Why are you busy snapping pictures (of the university campus)? You remind me of a tourist!
Me: That's cos I'll be leaving uni soon.
Friend: Well, there's always graduation.
Me: I just want to capture all these snapshots. Memories.

Picture aside (thats how I usually work my 'do anyway - twist, twirl and ta-da, here comes my high bun), I'm feeling really awful right now. The mere thought of graduating from uni and looking for jobs (and entering the workforce) is driving me bonkers...And even then, there's heap loads of assignments (essays, essays and reports), presentations and internship. Tomorrow's the last day of semester and I'm totally not looking forward to it. I can't bear to leave uni and embark on a different phase of life. I know some people out there will probably go 'just suck it up. Cos life's a bitch,' but really, I guess I now understand what people meant whenever they say, 'you'll definitely wish you were still a student once you start working.' I miss seeing those familiar faces from my cohort (even though I don't know most of them personally and vice versa), doodling in lectures (uh, I usually draw coconut trees - I'm really good at that; I've been honing those coconut tree skills since college), dragging myself to early 9am lectures, hanging out at South Lawn and Animal Orchestra, checking out cute lecturers/tutors/tutorial mates and yes, even forcing myself to sit through thick pile of readings. And just this morning, while strolling to yet another 9am seminar, I was reminded of my 19-year-old self - the Arts freshman with blunt bangs adorned across her forehead along with a Campus map and readers in hand. If only time could come to a standstill...

Love, Mae

I'm been feeling really sick since last night. Fever and flu can be such a lethal combination especially when you have a busy week up ahead...but I'm really proud of myself for dragging myself out of bed to attend a Media lecture at 9 this morning. I've also managed to head down to my local post office to collect my parcels (as well as to mail out a parcel to an eBay buyer).

I've this thing for pretty stuff and I guess those wall decals that I've ordered from Love Mae last week kinda perked me up when I received them today. I seriously can't wait to start decorating my room (in Singapore, that is...since I'll be leaving Melbourne in about two months' time). They're sooooo pretty! Not quite convinced? Okay check out these pictures:

I love the fact that even the postage stamp's in a form of a heart (as in, LOVE, geddit?)

In case you're (still) wondering what Love Mae is basically is/about or what they offer, it's basically an Aussie site that sells pretty wall decals, stickers, dinnerware, wrapping paper and even bedding. They have a wonderful collection of wall decals so feel free to pop by www.lovemae.com.au and start shopping! (Though I gotta admit that their prices are kinda on the high side (I'm a poor Communications student to begin with...so thats probably not a valid statement) but I guess it's pretty much justifiable if you're talking about wall decals that are made of adhesive fabric and that can be easily removable and reusable. Probably another reason why their kids range is a huge favorite among parents). *Also note that the last three images are taken from Love Mae's official site.

And as for the second parcel that I collected today...it's my new Velvet dress from Mink Pink! :D I spotted this girl wearing a velvet dress the other day while I was out with my friends for brunch and I was like 'dayummmm I need one as well.' I mean, velvet dress + tights + boots make such a rad combination. And yes, I really love velvet. Bought a velvet dress from American Apparel in March and I absolutely love the way it glides along your body and plus, I love the velvet feel.

Clothing tag is now up on my wall

Ok, I'm signing off now cos I'm sneezing as if I'm gonna drop dead. Adieus!

Yeah Yeah Yeah

Amazing pictures from Market HQ's May lookbook. Pictures are taken in Sydney's Chinatown, which probably explains the Asian grocery shop and roasted ducks.
